Fatwa CenterA Hadeeth about the Muslim soldiers who will invade the city of Caesar
Question
Who was Hazrat Umme Harram Razi Allah anha binte hazrat Malhan Razi Allah anhu,who was married to hazrat Abbada bin samit Razi ALLAH anhu.She was the maternal aunt of hazrat Anas Bin Malik Razi ALLAH anhu. She narrated few ahadis in Sahih AL Bukhari about the glad tidings of MAGHFIRAT for the muslim soldiers who will invade the city of Caesar(Constantipole). Kindly give detailed and though analysis of these ahadis from Bukhari and also analyse it if present in any other hadith book. Also please give all details about all the persons included in all the chains of narrations. Are these ahadis sahih. Kindly also please tell if yazeed was present in that army which invaded constantipole. Few scholars claim that Yazeed is in heaven because he was the leader of army which invaded the city of Caesar. Please also explain was umme harram the maternal aunt of the beloved holy Prophet Peace and blessings be upon him and his proegeny. Please also explain why is this hadith narrated only from shami people and few scholars claim that all those shami narrators were nasibis and hated hazrat Ali alaihis sallam,even cursed him. Regards.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
We have already issued Fatwa to the Prophet ">91134 about the biography of Umm Haraam Bint Milhaan, so please refer to it.
Besides, some scholars, like Ibn ‘Abdul barr 
stated in his book “At-Tamheed” that she was a maternal aunt of the Prophet from suckling; this is what Al-‘Ayni reported in “‘Umdatul Qaari” from Ad-Dawoodi.
We have also clarified the stand of Ahlus-Sunnah in regard to Yazeed in Fatwa 104601, and there is no doubt that he had many faults, and the Hadeeth in which the Prophet said: ''The first army that will conquer Constantinople is forgiven.”, does not necessarily mean that Yazeed who was the leader of that army is forgiven, but Allaah may or may not forgive him, and the Hadeeth may have some specifications that exclude Yazeed and other people from the general wording of the Hadeeth. Moreover, we are not aware of a Saheeh [sound] Hadeeth which clarifies that he is from the people of Paradise.
As regards the Hadeeth which you pointed to in the question, it is the Hadeeth of Umm Haraam that she heard the Prophet saying: "The first army from my nation who will undertake a naval expedition are granted Paradise.” She [Umm Haraam] said, 'O Prophet of Allaah, will I be amongst them?' He () replied: “You are amongst them.” Then the Prophet said: ''The first army amongst my followers who will invade Caesar's city, their sins will be forgiven.” “I asked: “Will I be one of them, O, Prophet of Allaah?” He said: “No.” [Al-Bukhari]
Also, Umm Haraam said once the Prophet had a siesta in her home and he got up smiling. She [Umm Haraam] said: “What makes you smile; O Prophet of Allaah?' He replied: “I was surprised to see (i.e. in a dream) that some of my followers were sailing over this sea like kings on thrones.' She said: “O, Prophet of Allaah! Invoke Allaah to make me one of them." So, the Prophet () said: "You are among them." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
These Ahaadeeth are authentic and there is no doubt about them and it is enough that they were narrated either by both Al-Bukhari and Muslim or by one of them. Indeed, the Ahaadeeth of Al-Bukhari and Muslim 
both, were widely accepted by the whole Ummah, as mentioned by An-Nawawi and other scholars .
With regard to your request about a detailed analysis of these Ahaadeeth and their narrators, then we apologize for this as this can not be discussed in a Fatwa; however, what we mentioned about their authenticity is enough.
Concerning the people of Shaam [the Ancient Syria] who narrated the Hadeeth, then they are trustworthy people and they narrated it as they narrated many other Ahaadeeth. Who described them as being Naasibis (enemies of Ahlul-Bayt)? Was he one of the trustworthy scholars like Imaam Maalik and the like? The answer is ‘no’. Rather, these bad names came from innovators and it is easy to give bad names but this does not change the reality in anything.
