All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
We have found no definitive texts indicating that white is Allah’s preferred color. Nonetheless, there are texts suggesting a general preference for white, particularly in clothing. In “Al-Mughni” by Ibn Qudamah it is noted: “White clothes are recommended because it is narrated from Samurah Ibn Jundub that the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, said: ‘Wear white clothes, for they are purer and better, and shroud your dead in them’ [Reported by Ahmad, An-Nasa'i, and At-Tirmidhi, who graded it as authentic]. Additionally, Abu Ad-Darda' narrated that the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, said: “The best of that in which you visit Allah in your graves and your mosques is white (garments)” [Ibn Majah].
As for eating chicken, it is well-established that the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, ate it. This is supported by a hadith reported in the two Sahihs [Al-Bukhari and Muslim] from Abu Musa Al-Ash’ari where he was presented with food containing chicken meat, and a man among those present refrained from approaching the food. Abu Musa Al-Ash’ari encouraged him, saying: “Go ahead, for I have seen the Messenger of Allah, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, eat from it.”
Regarding the hadith reported by Al-Bayhaqi it was also narrated by Abu Nu’aym with the same chain of transmission, but it was considered weak by As-Sakhawi in the book of Al-Ajwibah Al-Murdiyah fima Su'il As-Sakhawi ‘anhu min Al-Ahadith An-Nabawiyya.
Allah knows best.
