Fatwa CenterHears strange noises when going to the bathroom at night
Question
For the past few nights I havent been able to sleep and I get up for emergency bathroom use out of nowhere and when I go to the bathroom I here weird noises and I check who is there but here arent nobody there. Every night before I go to sleep I read the 4 Quls, Ayat-al-Kursi, and the 3 Tasbeeh. So please guide me in some ways. Are tawees Haraam or Bid
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
First of all, we advise you to persist in saying the legislated mention of Allaah before sleeping, and the morning and evening mention, and you should perform the prayer at its prescribed fixed time.
As regards the strange noise which you hear at night, it could be that it is from Jinn, as their nature is to harm and disturb humans. However, there is no harm in consulting a trustworthy Shaykh who performs Ruqyah using the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of the Prophet 
.
We advise you to refer to Fatwa 88660 on Ruqyah, and Fatwa 87928 on the legislated mention before sleeping, and Fatwa 87618 about tiredness and sleeplessness at night.
As regards the term Tawees, if you meant amulets by it then please refer to the ruling in Fataawa 85125 and 83434.
