In Ramadhaan every deeds that you get, it's multiplied by 70. Are the deeds still multiplied by 70 if your not fasting?
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
There is no doubt that Ramadan is the best month. The deeds are multiplied during this month and not multiplied in other months. The evidence is the saying of the Prophet : "Performing a 'Umrah (i.e. minor pilgrimage) during the month of Ramadan is equal to performing pilgrimage (Hajj) with me." [Al-Bukhari] However, we are not aware of any authentic narration of the Prophet which proves that the good deeds are multiplied exactly to seventy times except one weak narration which was classified as such by Ibn Hajar in his book At-Talkhees and which he attributed to Ibn Khuzaymah. The narration is as follows: "Whoever does a prescribed act of worship during this month is as if he had performed 70 acts in other months."
As regards whoever breaks the fast during Ramadan and whether his good deeds are multiplied, if he breaks the fast due to a sickness or a travel, we hope that his deeds will be multiplied as he is included in this great favour (of the month of Ramadan), and if he performs 'Umrah (minor pilgrimage) he is included in the saying of the Prophet : "Performing a 'Umrah during the month of Ramadan is equal to performing pilgrimage (Hajj) with me." [Al-Bukhari] The same thing applies if he gives alms or performs a prayer; we wish that his good deeds will be multiplied. As regards if one breaks the fast without an excuse, then he is sinful and has committed one of the major great sins and he deserves to be punished. He has to sincerely repent to Allaah and make up the day he broke the fast.
Allaah knows best.
