Question
It is allowed to eat mayonnaise that is made with vinegar that comes from wine (grape vinegar)?
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
If the vinegar extracted from grapes is added to mayonnaise before it becomes wine, or after it became wine but had become vinegar before being added, then there is no harm in eating this mayonanaise, but if it is added after it became wine and before it was transformed into vinegar, then it is forbidden to eat it.
