I have a problem but each time I tried to correct it more temptations come around me.
my problem started when I was young because I grew loving the things of this world so much but in a bid to run away from it (especially having sex with opposite sex) I made a pledge to Allah that InshaAllah I wont do it again until I get married since then I have not really done it with any lady. But the problem is that I do worse things than sleeping with women i.e. I tourch them, kiss and even do it to the extent of touching their private parts. This things as being happening for some time but each time I tried to correct it I ended up doing more of it.
I'm even ashamed of begging Allah for forgiveness again.
I know the gravity of making promises and not fulfilling it though I have not really have sex as I had promised but this horrible things I do is always scaring me please I need help cos I don't want to keep on incurring Allah's wrath or worse still die as a sinner.
Please what should I do.I know I have sin but what can I do to correct it so that Allah will forgive me.
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
What are you doing is forbidden and requires sincere repentance to Allah. Making repentance is an obligation upon every Muslim even if he does not vow to do so or makes promises to Allah. If one vows to Allah then the obligation becomes more emphatic and the violation more repulsive.
As you have made repentance from Zina you have to give up the acts that you mentioned in your question. The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said:"Allah has written for Adam's child his/her share of Zina (fornication and adultery) which he/ she commits inevitably. The Zina of the eye is the sight (to gaze at a forbidden thing), the Zina of the tongue is talk, and the inner self wishes and desires, while the private parts implement or avoid this."
Know that what you are doing is nothing but a step of Satan which will lead you to Zina, sooner or later. Therefore, dear brother, you should make repentance before death catches you and you take your last breath. The following acts will help you to become steadfast.
· Making Istighfar (asking forgiveness) and Dua continuously.
· Staying away from any sinful environment since it has a bad influence on the person. If one lives in a bad place it becomes difficult him to give up, such sins as experienced in non-Muslim countries. The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: "Whoever socializes with a polytheist and resides with him he is similar to him." (Abu Dawud)
· Befriending pious and good people, especially in the current period in which dissoluteness and immorality are widespread. Hasan Al Basri said: "we love our friends more than our family members since our family reminds us of this world while our friends remind us of hereafter."
· Continuously remembering death and the end of this life as that is very helpful to induce giving up the prohibited acts. The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: "Always remember the cutter of enjoyments, i.e. death." Al-Bukhari
· Performing prayers in congregation, attending Islamic circles, lectures and other Islamic activities.
The above are some suggestions that may help one adopt the way of Taqwa (piety). May Allah bless us all.
Allah knows best.
