My problem is the last time I thought evil things I don't want I couldn't control it. I believe in Allah (SWT) and His Messenger Muhammad, but sometimes there is like a voice who in me saying: 'Muhammad isn't true' and then this voice says 'now you are a Munafiq.' I don't want to lose my religion, because I know Muhammad is the true Messenger. What can I do, and am I still a Muslim? I can't live without my religion. Please help me in the Name of Allah (SWT).
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
A person cannot control the whispers of his desires and suspicions which come to his mind. But he should not let himself go along with them and should not act according to them or discuss according to them. Allah, The Most-High, by His Grace and Mercy, does not hold us accountable for the whispers of our desires, as long as a person does not act according to such whispers or talk according to them.
It is reported in Saheeh Muslim that Abu Hurairah (Radiya Allahu Anhu) narrated that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: “Allah does not hold my nation accountable for the whispers of their desires as long as they do not talk according to them or act according to them”.
The fact that what comes to one’s mind and the whispers of one’s desires are considered by the person as a great sin and a serious matter and that the person feels afraid of pronouncing them, let alone believing in them, is a sign of a complete faith.
Abu Hurairah (Radiya Allahu Anhu) narrated: “Some companions of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) came to him and asked him” we find in our own self (desires) what one of us considers as a great and serious matter to talk about”. The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: “Do you really find that”. They replied: “Yes”. The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) then said: “That is the true Iman (faith)”. [Reported by Muslim]
Therefore, dear brother, you are still a true Muslim. We advise you to remember Allah much and get involved in what benefits you in this life and in the Hereafter. Do not give way to these desires, whispers and ideas, and turn away from them if you find anything that has connection with creed and faith say ‘I believe in Allah’.
Allah knows best.
