Question
If I take a flu shot while I'm fasting would that void my fast?
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.Injections invalidate fasting if they have any feeding effect, i.e. if they substitute a drink or a food. These are often intravenous injections. However, if injections are for treatment, they are lawful as they do not contradict the Shariah aim of fasting.Allah knows best.
