Question
What has Allah said about masturbation and does it end your Saum if you do it?
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
Masturbation is not allowed in Islamic Shariah. For details on this subject, please read the Fatawa:81167 and 81277.
It is among the nullifiers of the fast according to the majority of Muslim scholars. The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: "The reward of a good deed for the son of Adam is increase ten times to seven hundred times. Allah Says except fasting it is for me thus I will grant him the reward since he leaves his food and desires for my sake." The person who practices masturbation does not give up his desires.
