1) Is it necessary to pay the Fitr Zakah for pregnant women?
2) Whether we can collect the Fitr Zakah during the Ramadan and give the amount to respective people before the Eid prayer.
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. If you mean paying Zakah to a pregnant woman, this is lawful if she is poor just like any other poor person. If you mean who should pay Zakah on her behalf, the answer is the person spending on her (husband, son or father). Ibn Umar said: The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) Ordered those who spend on the household to pay Zakah of Fitr on behalf of the young, the old, the free persons and the slaves. Now if there is nobody to spend on this lady, then she pays the Zakah from her own property if she owns anything that suffices her for the day and night of Eid otherwise the Fitr Zakah is no longer obligatory upon her. if your question is about paying Fitr Zakah on behalf of the fetus in her uterus, this is not obligatory. But it is a supererogatory act as it was done by Caliph Uthman Ibn Affan . As for your second question, the answer is that it is lawful to collect the Zakah Fitr before the Eid and give it to those who deserve it provided this is done before Eid prayer not prior to one or two days before Eid. Allah knows best.
