I want to know if the name Liyan or Leen was mentioned in the Qur'an? Does this word has an Arabic meaning?
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. This name Liyan or Leen was not mentioned in Qur'an. But the Qur'an mentioned "Lina" which means the palm date tree. Allah Says (interpretation of meaning): {What you (O Muslims) cut down of (lina) the palm-trees (of the enemy), or you left them standing on their stems, it was by Leave of Allâh, and in order that He might disgrace the Fâsiqûn (rebellious, disobedient to Allâh).}[59:5]. Allah knows best.
