Question
When I went abroad to meet my parents my husband and I had a fight during Internet chatting. In anger I wrote Talaaq 3 times but not intentionally. I love my husband very much. Is that Talaaq approved? Please help me. I don't want to divorce him. I have asked Allah for forgiveness for saying that. Will Allah forgive me?
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the World; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
If you are a woman the divorce is invalid as divorce is in the hands of the husband. So, the divorce that the woman utters is not considered unless her husband gives her the choice between being divorced and staying with him and she chooses divorce. In this case, the divorce is valid.
But, without the choice the divorce uttered by the woman is null and void.
On the other hand, we advise all the sisters to beware of disobeying their husbands and angering them as the husband's anger is a cause to the anger of Allah as mentioned in many Hadith.
