My Question: Is there an Ayah or Surah that you read when you need to find 'love' or a good husband? I'm a 23 year old female and I know dating is Haram in Islam so, I don't date and I've no other way of meeting a good Muslim husband but I really do want to get married, Insha Allah soon. So please tell me how. Thanks in advance, you have really helped me with a lot of questions I asked in the past. I really appreciated it and May Allah reward you for your good work.
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
As per our knowledge, there is no specific verse or chapter that brings someone love. But it is proved in the Sunnah that increased supererogatory acts such as prayers, fasting, and performing Hajj and ‘Umrah, bring the love of Allah, His Angels and other people. Abu Hurayrah narrated that the Prophet said: “My Slave does not get closer to Me with anything more beloved to Me than something that I have enjoined upon him, and My Slave keeps getting closer to Me by performing Nawaafil (supererogatory acts of worship) till I love him, and if I love him, I become his hearing with which he hears, and his seeing with which he sees, and his hand with which he strikes, and his leg with which he walks; and if he asks something of Me, I would surely give it to him, and if he seeks My Refuge (protection), I would surely protect him (i.e. give him My Refuge).” [Al-Bukhari]
Abu Hurayrah also narrated that the Prophet said: “If Allah loves a person, He calls Gabriel saying: 'Allah loves so and so; O Gabriel, love him'. Gabriel would love him, and then Gabriel would make an announcement among the residents of the Heaven, 'Allah loves so and so; therefore, you should love him also'. So, all the residents of the Heavens would love him and then he is granted the pleasure of the people of the Earth.”
Every believing woman's wish is to have a good husband. Therefore, asking for such a husband is not prohibited. It is a kind of blessing; thus, a woman can ask for it. Allah mentioned the supplication of pious people in Quran saying: {And those who say, "Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous."} [Quran 25:74]
Therefore, if a woman wants a good husband, she has to seek him through legal ways in Sharee’ah. The first step in those ways is seeking refuge with Allah and supplicating Him.
Allah Says (what means):
• {And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided.} [Quran 2:186]
• {And your Lord says, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you."} [Quran 40:60]
Supplicating Allah to gain goodness was the practice of Prophets and Messengers. Prophet Zakaria was an old man and desired to have a child, so he asked Allah supplicating (what means): {And indeed, I fear the successors after me, and my wife has been barren, so give me from Yourself an heir.} [ Quran 19:5]
Prophet Younus did the same when a big fish swallowed him, he said (what means): {…"There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers."} [Quran 21:87]
So, you have to do likewise; supplicate and ask help from Allah. Then ask the pious people whom you know to help you search for a good husband. Surely you will get what you desire, Allah willing. Allah Says (what means): {And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out. And will provide for him from where he does not expect.} [Quran 65:2-3]
Know that the Blessing of Allah cannot be obtained except through His Obedience.
