Question
I have a dog in my house but he is an outdoor pet. I would like to know how to clean myself from it when praying. In Ramadhan, does it effect my fasting?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
Keeping a dog for any reason other than the purpose of guarding or hunting is not permissible in the Sharee’ah.
For more benefit on legitimate reasons for keeping a dog, please refer to Fataawa 324532, 419983, 92109, 81421, 91174 and 85829.
Anyway, merely having a dog does not affect the validity of prayer or fasting but we advise the brother not to keep dogs and breed them except for the legal reason mentioned in the above Fataawa.
