Why is pork haram?
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
The Islamic Sharia is pure, good and comprehensive. The aim of the Sharia is to bring the profitable and develop it and to ward off the blight and make it less.
Allah has not forbidden anything but it was more harmful than profitable. Pork is indeed one of these harmful things which Allah forbids to us to protect us from harming ourselves.
1. Pork has in its blood, its giblets and its flesh a very dangerous worm called tapeworm.
2. The pig is a dirty animal which eats all kinds of dirt and impure things.
3. It is known to be very lazy and cuckold. It does not show any jealousy if another male pig attacks its partner. Anybody who eats it gets influenced by these bad habits.
These are some of the bad things that we have been able to defect so far. Some might say that the modern cooking procedures can kill the worms and that pigs could be raised in an environment where they do not eat impurities. We answer that the dangers discovered in its meat nowadays were not known before the Qur'an forbade it. So, there might be other dangerous things about eating pork that we have not yet been able to detect. Allah is The Only One who knows that which is good for us and that which is bad. Allah is The All-Knower and The All Aware.
