Question
What should we say after prayers?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
The Prophet Muhammad used to say some supplications after concluding his prayer.
Here are some chosen forms: say:
- Astaghfiru Allah (I seek forgiveness of Allah) 3 times; as reported in a Hadeeth in which, Thawbaan 
narrated: "Whenever the Messenger of Allah concluded his prayer, he would say Astaghfiru Allah (I seek forgiveness of Allah) 3 times; and then would say: - Allahumma anta -salaam wa minkas-salaam, tabaarakta ya thal-jalali wal-ikram (O Allah, You are As-Salam and from You is all peace, blessed are You, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor.) [once]; Imam Al-Awzaa'i, one of the narrators of this Hadeeth, was asked: “How forgiveness is to be sought?” He answered: "The Messenger of Allah used to say: Astaghfiru Allah! Astaghfiru Allah! (I beseech Allah for forgiveness, I beseech Allah for forgiveness). ” [Muslim]
- La ilaaha illa Allah wahdahu la shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku walahul-hamdu, wahuwa ‘ala kulli shay-in qadeer’ (None has the right to be worshiped except Allah Alone, without partner, to Him belongs all Sovereignty and Praise and He is over all things Omnipotent.);
- Allahumma la maani’a lima a’tayta, wa la mu’tiya lima maana’ta, wa la yanfa’u thal-jaddi minkal-jad. (O Allah, None can prevent what You have willed to bestow and none can bestow what You have willed to prevent, and no wealth or majesty can benefit anyone, as from You is all wealth and majesty.) [Al Bukhari and Muslim].
- "La ilaaha illa Allah wahdahu la shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku walahul-hamdu, wahuwa ‘ala kulli shay-in qadeer’. la hawla wala quwwata illa billah, laa ilaaha illa Allah, wala na’budu illa iyyah, lahun-ni’matu walahul-fadhlu walahu ath-thanaa-ul- hassan, laa ilaaha illa Allah mukhliseena lahud-deen walaw karihal-kaafiroon (None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise and He is over all things omnipotent. There is no might nor power except with Allah, none has the right to be worshipped except Allah and we worship none except Him. For Him is all favor, grace, and glorious praise. None has the right to be worshipped except Allah and we are sincere in faith and devotion to Him although the disbelievers detest it.) [Muslim]
- Subhaana Allah 33 times;
- Alhamdu Lillah 33 times;
- Allaahu Akbar 33 times;
- Then complete the one hundredth by saying: ‘‘La ilaaha illa Allah wahdahu la shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku walahul-hamdu, wahuwa ‘ala kulli shay-in qadeer’ (None has the right to be worshiped except Allah Alone, without partner, to Him belongs all Sovereignty and Praise and He is over all things Omnipotent.);
- Abu Hurayrah narrated that the Prophet said:
“He who says after every prayer: Subhaana Allah (Allah is free from imperfection) thirty-three times; Alhamdu Lillah (praise be to Allah) thirty-three times; Allaahu Akbar (Allah is The Greatest) thirty-three times; and completes the hundred with: ‘‘La ilaaha illa Allah wahdahu la shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku walahul-hamdu, wahuwa ‘ala kulli shay-in qadeer’ (None has the right to be worshiped except Allah Alone, without partner, to Him belongs all Sovereignty and Praise and He is over all things Omnipotent.); will have all his sins pardoned even if they were as large as the foam on the surface of the sea.” [Muslim]
- Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah narrated that the Prophet said:
“There are some words, the reciters of which will never be disappointed. These are: Tasbeeh [saying “Subhaana Allah” (Allah is free from imperfection)], thirty-three times; Tahmeed [saying 'Al-hamdu lillah' (praise be to Allah)] thirty-three times; and Takbeer [saying 'Allahu Akbar' (Allah is The Greatest)] thirty-four times; and these should be recited after the conclusion of every prescribed prayer.” [Muslim]
- Allahumma innee a’oothu bika minal-jubni wal-bukhl, wa a’oothu bika min an oradda ila arthalil-‘Umur, wa-a’oothu bika min fitnatid-dunya wa’athaabil-qabr” (O Allah, I take refuge in You from miserliness and cowardice; I take refuge in You lest I be returned to the worst of lives (i.e. old age, being weak, incapable and in a state of fear); and I take refuge in You from the trials and tribulations of this life and the punishment of the grave.) [Al-Bukhari]
- "Allahumma a'inni ala dhikrika, wa shukrika, wa husni ibaadatika (O Allah, help me to remember You, to be grateful to You, and to worship You in an excellent manner)” [Abu Daawood]
- Reciting Ayah al-Kursi (Quran 2:255]
- Surah al-Ikhlaas, al-Falaq, and an-Naas [Quran 112, 113, 114]
