Question
May Allah bless you, is it halal to memorise Quran using ai (tarteel.ai)?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
Artificial intelligence programs are still in their early stages and are prone to many errors. Therefore, one should be cautious when receiving Islamic knowledge from them, whether it pertains to Qur’an recitation or other religious sciences.
Furthermore, if the Qur’an is not to be learned from a person who makes mistakes in it, it is more befitting that it should not be learned from a program. However, if a Qur’an-teaching program is endorsed by qualified experts in Qur’anic recitation as being free from errors, there is no harm in using it for memorization, recitation correction, and other similar purposes.
The default ruling in this matter is permissibility, not prohibition.
