Fatwa CenterWearing Niqab after converting to Islam
Question
If a muslma's face is spread through out social media like for an example a famous model or musician convert wants to wear niqab. Can she still wear niqab?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
It is legislated for a Muslim woman to cover her face and wear the niqab, regardless of her previous situation, whether she was a disbeliever and converted to Islam, or she was a Muslim who had never worn it before, or whether she is famous and her image has spread across social media or not. The niqab is a cover for the woman and it is not forbidden for her to wear it regardless of her previous situation. All of this does not prevent her from wearing it after Islam and guidance. The female companions 
did not wear the hijab in the beginning and did not cover their faces until the legislation regarding wearing the hijab and covering the face was sent down.
