Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarokatuh. I want to ask. What is the ruling on disposing a product's package that word حلال or halal label is written on it or word علماء is written on it?Shukron.
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
Perhaps you are asking about disposal that involves disrespect, such as throwing them into trash bins and the like.
The answer is that there is no problem in getting rid of papers by burning them, destroying them, or burying them, and similar methods that do not involve disrespect. Rather, this is permissible even in getting rid of what is glorified and honored Islamically, such as the Mushafs or what contains the mention of Allah.
With regard to the word Halal or scholars, then we have previously explained that they are not among the glorified words, such as the Names of Allah Almighty, the Quranic verses, and Prophetic sayings, but they still have a kind of sanctity as they are among the words with Islamic significance and which are mentioned in the Quran. Also, because they are written in Arabic letters, which is respected in general, so it should be preserved and not be despised as much as possible.
For more benefit on burning or burying the Quran or something on which the name of Allah is written, please refer to Fataawa 367540, 237064, 89853 and 37422.
Allah Knows best.
