Sometimes some part of my garment creases up below my foot in salah while standing or under my feet or knees in sujood and i feel that this part of my body is not prostrating properly on the ground since the garment is too thick or uneven. What should i do? Ignore it or repeat the sajdah or the salah?
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
If your clothes cover your entire body, and you achieve what is sufficient in prostration, then your prayer is valid, and you do not have to repeat it.
Prostration is required on seven specific body parts in compliance with the saying of the Prophet : “I have been commanded to prostrate on seven bones: the forehead [and he pointed with his hand to his nose], the hands, the knees, and the toes of both feet.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
Prostration is achieved by prostrating on any of these seven limbs (body parts) by placing part of it on the ground.
Matalib Ulli an-Nuha authored by Ar-Ruhaybani reads:
“It is sufficient to prostrate on part of every limb, because it is not conditioned in the Hadeeth to prostrate on the entire body part.” [End of quote]
Therefore, you do not have to do anything about what you feel during prayer, such as the heaviness of the clothes and them being creased or folded, so just ignore all of this.
We fear that your feeling stems from whispers, so do not pay any attention to them, as they are a dangerous disease.
For more benefit on whispers and how to repel them, please refer to Fatawa 174507, 374308 and 356689.
Allah Knows best.
