Is it ok to cut tips of handgloves to touch mobile or cloth etc...?
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
If exposing the hand or part of it is not done in the presence of non-Mahram men, then there is no harm in this.
If it is in the presence of non-Mahram men, then the scholars differed in opinion about the ruling of a woman exposing her hand in front of non-Mahram men. The majority of the scholars are of the view that this is permissible and that her hand is not an ‘Awrah (part of the body that must be covered).
The view adopted by the Hanbali School is that it is forbidden. As a matter of fact, Ja’far ibn Mohammad said: “I heard Abu Abdullaah – Ahmad ibn Hanbal – saying: Everything in a woman is an ‘Awrah, even her fingernails.” [End of quote]
The view that hands must be covered and that they are an ‘Awrah (outside the prayer) is the view that we consider to be the preponderant one.
However, if a woman needs to uncover her hand or part of it for a need, then it is permissible in order to remove any difficulty. The need should be assessed according to its proper value. So, it is not permissible to reveal what exceeds the need, like in the event of making an opening to the fingertips of the gloves.
We have seen a YouTube clip showing how to touch the mobile when wearing gloves; so if this method is useful, then it is enough.
Allah knows best.
