Purity of water splashing during istinjaa'

Question

Assalaamu alaykum. I have two questions to ask:
1. I wished to ask for a clarification about question no. 92050. You said, "So if the private parts became pure beforehand, the water that splashes there from [when washing them] is also pure as long as it [the water] does not change." Do you mean that if I wash a place on my body that has urine on it, that water that falls from it is impure? I am confused because of your use of the word 'beforehand', the way I understood it was that if the private parts are not pure then any water splashing from that would also have become impure. Did you mean that the pure water that is then used to purify the urine covered private parts remains pure after doing so? I ask because I have the same problem. I use a pressurized hose to wash the urine covered parts of my body and the water droplets splash everywhere and then I do not know if I need to wash the places where the water droplets landed.
2. If I am standing under a shower head when a few droplets of urine come out of my private parts and land in the accumulated water beneath me, then does the water that continues to pour from the shower head purify the water under my feet? I ask because even though the water streams towards the drain, I am not sure how fast it does so, and I am left wondering if the area beneath me has become purified yet or not. I also worry that the droplets of water that drop down into the accumulated water then probably makes it impure, which makes my feet impure, and then I need to wash my feet, but I am not sure when the area at my feet becomes pure. These may be whisperings, but I really need an answer because this continues to cause me stress on a daily level, every time I leave my bathroom, I fear my that wet feet have impurity on them and that they carry it through my room and that I put impurity on my feet every time they are wet.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ʻalayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

These are mere obsessive whisperings (waswaas) from which you seem to suffer. We advise you to repel and disregard such whisperings. You can follow the scholarly view that holds that water does not become impure unless its taste, color or smell changes. This view is adopted by the Maalikis and a group of scholars and it is supported with strong evidence.

Hence, the water that splashes while cleaning an impurity is judged to be pure unless the impurity changes its taste, color and smell. If an impurity falls into pure water, then it is also judged as pure unless the impurity changes its taste, color or smell. If you follow this view, you can easily ward off these obsessive whisperings and relieve yourself of hardship.

Allaah knows best.
