Fatwa CenterA question whispered by the devil to weaken believer’s faith
Question
What is the Sharee‘ah ruling on a person who is far from Islam and asks the following question: As you say that Allaah The Almighty created everything, then who created Allaah?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
This question is one of the devil’s methods to misguide people and keep them away from the right path. It is either conveyed through the devil’s allies or he whispers it directly into the believer’s heart to weaken his faith or to arouse doubts in those who have weak faith and poor knowledge of religion.
The method of treatment lies in seeking refuge in Allaah The Exalted, resorting to Him and completely ignoring such whisperings and dangerous thoughts. It is important to note that no sane person would ask this question in the first place.
