My wife will travel for Hajj along with her parents after a few days. Her menstruation period coincides with the Day of ‘Arafah. What is the Sharee'ah ruling on her Hajj?
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
It is permissible for your wife to travel for Hajj, regardless of what you have mentioned. If she has her menstruation in the mentioned time, then she is allowed to do all the rituals of Hajj, including standing at ‘Arafah, spending the night at Muzdalifah, throwing the pebbles, and so on, except for Tawaaf al-Ifadhah (Tawaaf [circumambulation] after returning from Mina) and Sa‘y (going back and forth) between Mount Safa and Mount Marwah. For the last two rituals, she has to wait until her menstruation stops, and she can then perform them. It was narrated that the Messenger of Allaah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said to ‘Aa'ishah "Do all what a pilgrim does, except that you should not perform Tawaaf around the Ka‘bah until your menstruation stops."
Allaah Knows best.
