Israel shot dead more Palestinians

Israeli soldiers shot and killed two Palestinians Sunday at an army check post near the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

The deaths bring to four the number of Palestinians killed in the occupied West Bank over the last two days.
Two Palestinians were killed on Saturday during a protest in the West Bank city of Nablus when they were hit by live ammunition, fired by Israeli troops.
Villagers said the clashes broke out when settlers attacked the village.
The Israeli army has confirmed the shooting, but denied live ammunition was used.
However, Palestinian news agency said, "In an X-ray seen by Ma'an, what appears to be a live bullet is lodged in Osaid's skull."
Ma'an added, "In addition, Muhammad's body had an entry wound in the chest and an exit wound in the back. Such an injury could not have been caused by anything but live ammunition, activists said."

The Israeli army said that the Palestinians had tried to stab an Israeli soldier near a security crossing southeast of Nablus.
"Two men tried to stab a soldier during a routine patrol near the Awarta security crossing near Nablus. The force opened fire and confirmed their death," an army spokeswoman said.
Palestinian security sources identified the victims as 19-year-old farmers Muhammad Faysal and Salah Muhammad Qawariq.
Both were from the Awarta village, southeast of Nablus, and were en route to farmland carrying agricultural tools and herbicide, the same sources said.
Red Crescent officials were asked to come and evacuate the victims.
