All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
A Muslim should submit himself to the Predestination and Decree of Allaah and must believe that nothing happens except by the Decree and Predestination of Allaah. Furthermore, it is forbidden for a Muslim to be discontent with the Decree of Allaah and express anger towards the calamities which befall him.
A person whose money had been stolen must be patient as this could be a test for him from Allaah to see whether or not he will be patient. It could also be a reason for eradicating his sins or raising his rank in the scale of Allaah. The Prophet said: “The people who are afflicted the most are the Prophets, then those who are like them (in their religion and patience) and then those who come after them (in enduring calamities and being firm in religion). A man is afflicted according to the strength of his faith, if he is firm in his religion, he is severely tried, but if his faith is weak, he is afflicted accordingly, and he continues to be afflicted until he walks on the face of the earth having no sin.” [Ahmad and At-Tirmithi]
