All Perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as that of his family and all his companions.
The Tareeqah (a doctrine of Sufism) about which the brother is enquiring is an innovative way and a new system introduced to Islam. The evidence of its falsehood is that it traces back to a Sufi person named Shbaaz Qalandar and not to the Prophet or his companions. Islam does not consist of the Sufi ways such as Al-Qalandariyah, or At-Tayjaniya, or the like, which are based on many innovations and myths. Islam has only one way, that is following the Quran and Sunnah as understood by the predecessors. Islam neither approves the way of Shabaz nor his innovative way which is based on dreams and on having communication with the dead. Allaah Says (what means): {Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember.} [Quran 7:3]
Allaah, The Exalted, did not mention in Quran the power of 'Kashful Quboor' (revelation of graves) or the possibility of communicating with dead people or seeking guidance through dreams. The Prophet said: "A good dream is from Allaah, and a bad dream is from Satan" [Al-Bukhari]
The claim that the companions of the Prophet and their followers used to practice 'Kashful Quboor', if it is meant that they used to have conversation with dead persons then it is a lie. Allaah Says (that means): {But you cannot make hear those in the graves.} [Quran 35:22]
As for the saying that pious and good persons pray or perform Hajj after their death, it is among the unseen matters. This knowledge of the unseen can not be known except through divine revelation, like the example of the Prophet informing us that he passed by Moosaa, May Allaah exalt his mention, during his night journey while he was praying. So, no one can claim that pious people pray after their death in their graves except if there is evidence in Quran and Sunnah. If the matter is so, then where is the evidence that the good and pious people perform prayers and Hajj after their death?
Dear brother, be careful from the traps of Satan which is prepared by Shabaaz Qalandar and your Sheikh who is teaching this innovative Tareeqah. Satan is very keen to lead people astray and keep them away from the Book of Allaah and Sunnah of the Prophet .
As for your Sheikh entrusting you to engage yourself in remembrance of Allaah or performing Du'aa' to Allaah; in fact it is truth mixed up with falsehood to deceive people. Because, if they had presented only falsehood, then people would have discovered their mistake and their deception would be disclosed.
Therefore, we advise the brother to be careful and to remember the saying of Allaah (which means): {This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion.} [Quran 5:3]
Any new thing your Shikh or his Tareeqah teaches you is nothing but innovations and myths.
To know about Sufism and its origin read the Fataawa 82017, and 83615 and the Fatwa 91583 about one of an innovative Sofite's Tareeqah.
Allaah Knows best.
