Works in a company whose money is dealt with on the western economic basis

Question:

I am working with international service company in oil business. Is my salary Haraam? Is my stock options and bonus Haraam? I am sure that the company money is dealt with on the western economic basis. Should I leave the company as every thing is Haraam? Should I stop dealing with buying any more stocks and trade in them? I do no buy any Haraam companies stock. I am buying oil sector and IT sectors stocks? Your URGENT advice please as I heard one Imaam saying that all my salary and income and trades are Haraam100%?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

 

First of all, we thank you for being keen on earning lawful gains, as regards the company which you are inquiring about, we do not know anything about it [company] so we are unable to give a ruling in its regard, as we cannot give a ruling on something which we do not know.

Therefore, we advise you to ask a scholar in your country who is trustworthy in regard to his religion and knowledge and who knows about this company, so that he may answer you with knowledge.

We have already issued Fataawa 82105 and 90770 on the ruling of shares, and their different kinds, and the ruling of mixed shares, so please refer to them.
