Touching religious books when in the state of ritual impurity

Question:

What is the ruling on touching religious books if they are written in a language other than Arabic, like English, Urdu, and Persian? Do these books have the same ruling as those written in Arabic?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

It is permissible for a person who is in a state of purity or who is not in a state of purity to touch religious books, whether they are written in Arabic or in other languages as long as the Quran does not exceed other texts. However, it is better for a person who touches them to be in a state of purity as a sign of glorification to the mention of Allaah which they contain.

Allaah Knows best.
