Facing Qiblah when eating

Question:

Are you allowed to face the Qiblah when you are eating?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

 

It is permissible to face the Qiblah when eating and drinking, and this matter is neither disliked nor a Sunnah. Furthermore, we do not know any evidence that it is desirable or disliked to face the Qiblah when eating and drinking. No scholar has ever said that this matter is desirable or disliked.
