Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
No doubt that the wise and just Shariah has ordered men to live honourably with their wives and to treat them kindly. Allah says: " And live with them honourably." (An-Nisa 4:19)
Al-Bukhari and Muslim also reported that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: "Each one of you should advise the other to treat women well."
So, our advice to you, dear sister, is to sit down with your husband and talk to him frankly about this issue. Remind him of your rights but make sure that this be done in his time of happiness. Moreover, try to make the home environment appealing and attractive to him. In addition, you should beautify yourself for him. More importantly, multiply making Du'a to Allah to ease his matters.
However, if what he is doing is only in the fulfillment of his duty and it is only due to the nature of his work, then we advise you to be patient and bear his shortcomings. Allah will reward you greatly for your patience. Ahmed reported that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: "When the woman prays her five obligatory prayers, fasts her month, keeps her private parts (from sin) and obeys her husband, it is said to her: "Enter Paradise from any gate you wish."
Allah knows best.
