Question:
Is it permissible for a person to use facial medicine that helps revive and beautify the skin? For instance, I have currently have scars on my face and also, I don't have a clear complexion. What's the ruling regarding this matter?
Answer:
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the World; and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
There is no harm in using medicine that helps revive and beautify the skin, especially if there is need for doing so. But using this medicine should not include shaving the beard or removing the hair of the eyebrows as these are forbidden by sound evidence.
In addition, it should not have any known bad side effects or be harmful itself or cause a change in the normal body formation.
Allah knows best.
