Question:
I am a young man who suffers from frequent discharge of pre-ejaculatory fluid which mostly comes out whenever I sleep. Therefore, I never perform the prayer in my sleepwear. I know that performing Wudhoo’ (ablution) before sleeping is recommended, but the question is: Am I permitted to perform Wudhoo’ for this purpose in my sleepwear? May Allaah reward you.
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
You are permitted to perform Wudhoo’ for sleeping or for any other reason in your sleepwear, even if you are certain that they are impure. That is because purity of the garment is not a prerequisite for Wudhoo’ to be valid.
Allaah Knows best.
