Ruling on a man wishing something from others

Question:

Assalaamu 'Alaykum, I am an employee in civil governmental institutions, and sometimes we are required to write some reports or petitions in which we use phrases like, "We wish you would do …," "We hope…," or "We hope you would kindly…" Is this form of wishing permissible? May Allaah reward you.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

If a man has hope in others or seeks their help in matters they are capable of doing, it is permissible and does not contradict one's belief in the oneness of Allaah The Almighty. The same ruling applies to seeking support or refuge in a human being in matters which he is capable of doing.

Allaah Knows best.
