All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
If the uterus inversion would lead to sterilization, then it is prohibited, unless there is a definite or semi-definite harm that may afflict the mother because of delivery and that this harm is impossible to avoid except through this way; then it becomes incumbent to reverse the uterus – which causes sterility – in order to avoid the harm.
The majority of scholars say that it is prohibited to induce sterility without fearing a definite harm.
However, if inversion of the uterus is a mere temporary contraceptive for family planning, for a specific period of time, due to a need, then it is permissible.
Allaah Knows best.
