All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
It is permissible to utilize Sharee‘ah-approved means in treating and warding off the effect of magic and the evil eye, provided that one sincerely puts his trust in Allaah The Almighty, relies on Him and feels confident that He Alone is the Giver of Benefit and the One who Inflicts Harm. Allaah The Exalted Says (what means): {And if Allaah should touch you with adversity, there is no remover of it except Him; and if He intends for you good, then there is no repeller of His bounty. He causes it to reach whom He wills of His servants. And He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.} [Quran 10:107]
Ibn Hajar mentioned about using lote-tree leaves. He reported on the authority of Wahb ibn Munabbih that one should take seven green leaves of the lote tree, crush them between two stones, mix them with water, then recite over this mixture the Verse of Al-Kursi (the Chair) [Quran 2:255], the last three chapters of the Quran [Quran 112, 113 & 114] and Chapter Al-Kaafiroon [Quran 109], then take three sips from it and wash the body with the rest and he will (Allaah willing) fully recover. It is also a good treatment for the man who cannot have sexual intercourse with his wife (because of magic). Shaykh ‘Abdur-Rahmaan ibn Hasan also mentioned this and expressed his approval of it.
Allaah Knows best.
