All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and messenger.
This Hadeeth is authentic. It was narrated by Ahmad, At-Tirmithi, Ibn Hibbaan and others. According to the wording of Ibn Hibbaan, Al-Baraa’ ibn ‘Aazib narrated that the Prophet said: “Whoever offers gifts of silver, provides someone with milk, or guides a wanderer to a road that he is missing, he will receive a reward equal to that for freeing a slave or saving a soul.”
At-Tirmithi said that this Hadeeth is Hasan (good) and authentic. Shaykh Al-Albaani classified it as authentic and Shu’ayb Al-Arnaa’oot said: “Its chain of narration is strong.” As for giving gifts of silver, At-Tirmithi said, “This statement refers to lending dirhams (i.e. money)...”
Allaah Knows best.
