All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
There is no basis for this saying in Islam. Rather, it is more likely mere superstition and involves a form of taking bad omens, which is prohibited in Islam as we clarified in Fatwa 29745.
Such words indicate the ignorance of whoever spoke them, and the ignorant person must be taught and is excused until the truth is made clear to him. Allaah The Exalted Says (what means): {And Allaah would not let a people stray after He has guided them until He makes clear to them what they should avoid. Indeed, Allaah is Knowing of all things.}[Quran 9:115]
