Shaving hair on penis and testes

Question:

Assalamualikum
i want to ask i have some hair on my penis also i have hair on testis. is it necessary to remove hair from penis and testis. people say that it is unusual to have hair on penis. normally hair does not grow on penis. please explain in detail thanks

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

 

It is legislated to remove the hair in question by shaving it or by any other means as an obligation according to some scholars or as a recommendation according to others. Whether or not the growth of hair on the penis is unusual, it is legislated to remove it and it belongs to the pubic hair. See Fatwa 92643 that we previously referred you to. For further information refer to Fataawa 84987 and 81950.
