Women visiting graves every Friday

Question:

salam i have read that it is permissiable to visit the grave and so i have been visiting my fathers grave every friday with my mom to say duaa and remember death but ive read its not good to go visit the graves alot im confused ? is every friday to much? ja zakum allah khair
Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

 

There is no doubt that visiting the graveyard every week is too much, and a woman should not visit graves so often because the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) cursed the women who visit graves frequently.

Moreover, there is no difference between visiting the grave on Friday and on other days of the week because it is not confirmed that the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) singled out a day of the week for visiting graves. Therefore, specifying a particular day for visiting graves is an innovation as per the Fatwa of some scholars may Allaah have mercy upon them. For more benefit, please refer to Fatwa 90758.

Finally, we advise you not to go to the graveyard so often and not specify Friday as a day for visiting it.
