Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

First of all, please accept our condolences on the death of your daughter and we ask Allaah to make her a treasure for you.

You should know that the fate of Muslim children is Paradise; therefore, you should be concerned with performing good deeds for your own self. However, if you gift the reward of some good deeds to your daughter, then we hope that she will benefit from it. According to the most preponderant opinion of the scholars may Allaah have mercy upon him the dead person benefits from the reward of the recitation of the Quran, mention of Allaah and other good deeds that are performed by the live people on his/her behalf.

However, doing this in a group or specifying a number for the mention of Allaah, then this matter is considered as an additional innovation, so you should avoid this. For more benefit, please refer to Fatwa 116190 and 86828.

What you may do now instead is to do these good deeds or any other good deeds on an individual basis and without specifying a given number of the mention of Allaah, and then gift the reward of these good deeds to your daughter.

Allaah Knows best.
