Ruling of women offering the funeral Prayer

Question:

Is it permissible for women to offer the funeral prayer in the sacred mosques whether in Mekkah or in Al-Medeenah?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.

 

It is permissible for a woman to offer the funeral prayer in the sacred mosques whether in Mekkah, Al-Medeenah or any other mosque. However, it is disliked for her to follow the funeral (procession) even for just offering the prayer.
